About this artwork

Artist Johansen Newman paints a contemporary portrait of a tattooed man smoking and drinking by the bar. "I imagined the voice of Frank Sinatra singing 'One For My Baby' as I painted," shares Johansen. The pensive subject sits alone at a neon-lit bar asking Joe, the bartender, for one more drink while he thinks about missed connections and past love affairs. The dark background conjures up the solitude that fills many old taverns. The painting comes with a handmade wooden frame painted black.
