About this artwork

In this painting, the artist reimagines a scene regularly played out in his neighborhood in Los Angeles, in which a mob of noisy crows harasses a stoic Cooper's Hawk. On this canvas Jesse relocates the discourse to a foggy tumble of cliffs and branches, into which a beleaguered bird might wing away into the mist and disappear.
