About this artwork

The title of the painting is from the song Sparrow by Simon and Garfunkel. It depicts the nest of one my favorite birds, the Chipping Sparrow. Real eggshells are collaged onto the surface of the canvas, then painted, shaded and speckled. The strands of the nest are heavily textured using acrylic gel medium. The back of the canvas is wired to hang.
