About this artwork

A speckled wild bird's egg sits before an emerald green background. Artist Jennifer Ross titled this series from a quote by James Allen, The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities. The egg was formed by collaging real eggshells onto the canvas, which Jennifer painted over to add color, dimension, and the effect of the egg just starting to hatch. In the crack, a sliver of gold appears.
