About this artwork

"I wanted to reflect the sea off the coast of Telde in the island of Gran Canaria of the Canary Islands in Spain," says artist Fernando Bosch. "Its somewhat hostile beauty and its wild dry mountains, of volcanoes that were extinguished a long time ago." Powerful shifts in color and texture, swirl and flow gracefully. Using various materials, Fernando produced a tactile portrayal from hardened igneous land and rocks to the swirling ocean.
