About this artwork

A beam of light glimmers on the face of a mountain from the low setting sun. Fog forms above a blanket of snow interweaving tall dark trees. Artist Alana Clumeck created this abstract mountain scene with a mix of acrylic paint and watercolor. I tried to create an abstract portrayal of the last light of the day hitting a snow-covered mountain edge, Alana explains. Drips of watercolor represent a line of trees cutting against a snowy backdrop. Gold hues contrast against the dark mountain slope to emote that last sliver of the sun as it glistens on the mountain range.
