About this artwork
This piece was inspired by the dramatic approach and climb up one of my favorite mountains in southern Utah, says artist Crystal DiPietro. Sharing her depiction of this majestic view, Crystal articulates the rough terrain into lyrical paintwork. Yellow, brown, and orange hills are intricately veined with complementary purple. Rendering the valley and sky beyond in more restrained brushwork keeps the mountain as the focal point of this impressive scene.
