About this artwork

The inspiration comes from the world around me and the events and issues that shape it.  The intention of the piece is to explore the passage of time and how it effects the structure and fragility of life, where without attention and care, those aspects that mean the most begin to deteriorate and decay.Generally, I select my materials and processes based on the needs of the task at hand. I use them to find the best combination in order to achieve the desired result. I prefer using materials that allow for rapid application to the canvas so as to capture the initial outline of the concept of the project. Once this is complete, I then set about adding layers and texture to the image until it is complete. The sides are finished according to the colour used nearest to the sides of the painting. Also this piece does not have wire. This piece is composed of paper, charcoal, colored pencil and acrylic paint on a cradled wood panel. The sides of the piece are a continuation of the front. The work comes ready to hang.
