About this artwork

The title of the paintings is from a quote by Bill Moyers. “What happens to me when I learn something new, and it happens every day, is that I just feel a little more at home in this universe, a little more comfortable in the nest. I’m afraid that just about the time I begin to feel really at home, it’ll be over.” In the piece, I've used my eggshell-ing technique to collage real eggshells to the surface of the canvas and then painting over to add color and dimension. The strands of the nest are textured using an acrylic gel medium. The back is wired and ready to hang.
