About this artwork
There is a moment, just before dusk, when a brilliant sunset above the darkening shoreline intermixes deliciously with the smoky glow of beachgoers' bonfires, says artist Dorothy Dunn. Dorothy layered vibrant orange and purple over soft smokey colors, intuitively recreating the scene in her mind. I developed this painting using multiple raw and controlled pours of transparent and saturated acrylic paint to achieve layered depth and interest, Dorothy says of her process.
