About this artwork

Artist Samuel Pretorius paints a warm and refreshing stretch of Coronado Beach. He displays a quintessentially California composition in charismatic impressionism. The lifeguard tower and palm tree overlook the sea glistening in the late afternoon sun. I wanted to capture the heat of the sand on a hot summer day with the promise of cooling down in the ocean, says Samuel.
