About this artwork

A pedestal-placed sculpture, a bold artwork, a powerful steel piece which suggests the work of Anthony Caro was Korom’s inspiration for Sculpture. The bottom-located white pedestal helps define the difference between the foreground and the background in an altogether perspective-lacking work. The challenging blue figure—the sculpture—is muscular and not demure by any account; it gives dynamism to this powerful painting because it is the painting.
