About this artwork

This piece was inspired by a photograph taken of the artist's daughter, Wren, in the summer. Wren will be twelve years old on Valentine's day, just weeks after her mother painted the piece. Creating the piece reminds the artist of the promise of summer during these cold snowy weeks of winter. Wren is displayed daydreaming away her easy summer afternoon eating a delicious bowl of Michigan cherries.
