About this artwork
Artist Hyoungseok Kim paints five human figures in a bus station. He emphasizes the material and scientific features of nature by expressing the flow of dots or particles. Hyoungseok expresses his concept through pointillism. He shares an excerpt of John Updike’s Cosmic Gall as inspiration for his Ghost in the City series:
Neutrinos, they are very small.
They have no charge and have no mass.
And do not interact at all.
The earth is just a silly ball
To them, through which they simply pass,
Like dustmaids down a drafty hall
Or photons through a sheet of glass.
