About this artwork

I have always been fascinated by images from the past that exist today divorced from their original intent or context. Clearly, someone believed the image was important enough to record in some way, but why? By reproducing them in a different medium, I hope to provoke the viewer's curiosity of the images' origin as well as encourage them to invent their own narrative of the image's purpose.
