About this artwork
In this painting, I wanted to convey the scene in a very fresh, simple manner. Of particular interest is the surface, which is painted green, rather than my usual dark brown. This green surface creates some interesting contrasts when colors in the red family especially are applied over it. As in many other examples, here again detail is minimal, and the free and expressive application of paint is paramount. The sides are painted brown, and the work arrives wired and ready to hang.
