About this artwork
In this depiction of an Irish mansion, only the merest hint of detail exists, leaving bold blocks of color to create the visual experience. The house itself and the path near it are both distorted and tilted upward, to add interest and create a visual play on normal perspective. The various lines of trees, lawn and even cloud formations become elements that intersect the house at various points, essentially framing it within a sort of vortex. Consider this a modern rendition of a very traditional subject. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted brown, and it arrives wired and ready to hang.
