Artist Statement
I'm a landscape painter, and my artistic journey unfolds in the great outdoors. My preferred tools include oil paints, brushes, palette knife, canvas, and panels. Drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes of the Western United States—deserts, mountains, rivers, fields, and ocean scenes—I embrace the unique lighting and atmospheres of each location.
My process begins at dawn, capturing the enchanting early morning light. Armed with a brief graphite sketch on paper, I swiftly translate my impressions onto canvas panels, adapting to the ever-changing natural light. Back in my studio in Palm Desert, CA, I meticulously select the sketches I resonate with, transforming them into larger, more detailed works.
