Hadley Northrop | Artist Profile Photo
Hadley Northrop
San Francisco, California
Hadley’s subject matter is inspired by her San Francisco surroundings, particularly the city at night. Her glowing depictions of light sources are reminiscent of a blurred photograph or a bleary-eyed nighttime stroll. Hadley developed her love for art from her mother, a watercolorist, and continued to pursue her artistic career at a collegiate level and beyond. She now works out of a small studio in San Francisco’s Mission District. Hadley goes into her studio seven days a week with her Boston terrier puppy.

Artist Statement

I paint people and places that grab my attention, capturing them with a touch of magic. With blurry little photographs for reference, I infuse my oil paintings with rich colors and velvety textures, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. From lively bar scenes to solitary caravans glowing in the night, my work is inspired by the vibrant essence of San Francisco. The city's Victorian architecture, charming spots, belly dancers, and little dogs provide endless inspiration for my paintings.
