Fernando Garcia | Artist Profile Photo
Fernando Garcia
Omaha, Nebraska
Artist Fernando Garcia depicts dramatic abstract scenes where he deconstructs and pares down elements to their simplest form. "I love the challenge of experimenting with new materials and ideas, bringing feeling, harmony, and movement," shares Fernando. Coming from a family of musicians while partially deaf, painting became the expression of his innate musical spirit. His penchant for art led him to attend San Alejandro School of Fine Arts to further master his craft. His concepts revolve around his immediate environment, creating a perfect vision of nature in all its expressions. The methodically flat picture planes give the sense that the compositions do not exist singly but are symphonies of evolution that change and unfold over time. He works at his colorful home studio on a hill, where he can see the sunrise every morning. When he's not painting, he enjoys sungazing, yoga, and running around the park near his residence. Fernando has participated in various art festivals locally and has exhibited his work in France, Cuba, Spain, and the United States.

Artist Statement

My abstract landscape paintings have been called dynamic, bold, explosive, and exciting. Over the past few years I have developed a new line of abstract landscapes that have a more serene and calm sense - bringing feeling, harmony, and movement to either style is my goal.

I love the challenge of experimenting with new materials and ideas. I have been a full-time working artist for over twenty years. The motivation to excel results in abstract images that feel free and spontaneous but exude design and beauty. Texture, dimension, color, and good design are the basis for my work. Since I work with many layers of various mediums, all of these elements give the piece depth and interest. Anything is fair game to my way of thinking.

Go on your own journey of discovery and enjoy the magnificent exploration of color, texture, and depth.
