Chus Galiano
Carmona, Sevilla, Spain
Artist Chus Galiano specializes in mixed media, blending abstract expressionism with pop art. His creations, characterized by vibrant colors and unconventional materials, offer commentary on everyday objects of consumer society, transforming them into culturally recontextualized artifacts. "Anything can evolve into art through a unique creative process," says Chus. He resides and works in a cozy studio on his property in Seville, Spain, far from urban hustle, drawing inspiration from nature and his life experiences. Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist with a great vocation in painting and different lines of artistic research. I recognize the habitual use of saturated colors — and some other unusual materials — generating works deeply linked to the practice with the elements. I love feeling that every day I am in constant development, opening doors to exploration through abstraction and the use of different media. I try to do an exercise to take risks and experiment with new ideas. Many times the materials themselves guide the creation. Anything can become art during the unique creative process: a bottle cap, a coffee capsule, the elements of a vinyl record, and small cardboard boxes. I like to prioritize objects that are related to everyday life and see how they become recontextualized cultural objects, going from normality to artistic excellence.
