Artsy Focuses on High-end Galleries and Blue Chip Artists

Artsy only works with galleries to sell art, as opposed to individual artists. They also prefer working with auctions, which tend to represent a more expensive marketplace for art.

If you prefer dealing with one trusted gallery that provides consistent, personal customer service, Artsy might not be the ideal online platform for you.

UGallery Brings Collectors and Artists Together

At UGallery, artists are hand-picked by curators to save you time finding the perfect piece.

Every artwork is shipped carefully in a custom box, ensuring you receive artwork you love in perfect condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does UGallery make sure that the pictures and description are accurate?

For every painting that we sell, we request artists to send at least four photos. You can always see one from the front, one from the side, a close up for detail, and a wide frame photo showing how the artwork looks in context. These are all high resolution photos you can zoom into to appreciate details. Our staff carefully reviews each photo set, ensuring colors match with the real work and that all photos are consistent. We work together with artists to write a short description for each piece.

How is art packaged so it is safe in transit?

We are the only online gallery using custom-made art boxes. We have an exclusive contract with a cardboard box manufacturer that builds boxes for us that are a bit bigger than every piece we sell. The box comes with three layers of foam so your piece can fit in the middle, protected by foam on both sides. The foam makes unpackaging quick and easy — no packing peanuts, no mess.

How much does shipping cost within the United States?

We offer free shipping to any location in the contiguous United States. Free shipping is automatically applied – no minimum purchase, coupons or promotion codes are required. Shipments to Hawaii or Alaska are subject to a shipping fee.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We are happy to ship artwork to any destination in the world. Please note, art shipped outside of the contiguous United States may take two to four weeks for delivery, depending on the destination country. Additionally, artwork may be subject to duties, taxes and/or fees. Please consult our team and we'll work with you to find out more details about duties and taxes.

Once I purchase a piece of art, how many days will it take to arrive?

After your order is placed, a new box is custom built and sent to the artist. The artist packages the work carefully and ships it to you. Once your artwork is shipped, please allow three to six more business days for it to arrive. You will receive an email with a tracking number to see exactly when your art will arrive. If you need artwork delivered on a tight deadline, please contact us before placing your order at sales@ugallery.com so that we can arrange expedited shipping.

Which delivery provider does UGallery use?

We send art via FedEx within the U.S. and may use other common carriers internationally. All artwork is shipped fully insured. Please note, a signature is not required for delivery unless you request that your art be delivered with a signature.

Do you offer payment plans for purchasing artwork?

We offer payment plan options. Please call us at (415) 742-8417 or email us at sales@ugallery.com for more details. We are happy to work with you to find the best way for you to acquire new art.

Do I get a certificate of authenticity with my purchase?

Yes! All of our purchases include a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. The certificate shows your name as the buyer, the details of the work, a short artist bio and a photo of the piece.

How does UGallery price artwork?

Artwork is priced using artist input and the expertise of our curators. When artists submit images of their work, they are asked to enter desired prices for each piece. That price is then compared to UGallery’s curator appraisal. We take pride in our ability to fairly and accurately price art.

How do you handle returns if a piece doesn’t meet my expectations?

We want you to love your new art, so if a piece doesn't quite work in your space, return it within seven days of receiving your order and we'll issue you a refund for the price of the art. Art must be returned in its original packaging. We will pay for return shipping on pieces measuring up to 50 inches on the longest side. For artwork longer than 50 inches, we'll issue you a refund on the price of the art minus a return shipping fee of $300. For orders shipped outside of the contiguous United States, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping and any customs and brokerage fees charged upon return. At this time, there are no returns on commissioned orders or artwork that is altered at the request of the customer.
