About this artwork
Artist Onelio Marrero paints a raft of ducks swimming in a pond surrounded by spring foliage. I have been observing ducks in their habitats in order to paint this scene of Pekin Ducks, says Onelio. He especially features the dancing reflections on the water and the effects of light on the white of the ducks. The vivid color and rich brush strokes capture the effects of the ripples reflecting the sky and colors of the shallow pond water. Onelio paints the ducks in various stages of motion to provide a sense of inertia as well as motion.
