About this artwork

This painting is the first in a series-in-progress entitled Day Job that is inspired by my attempts to balance my artistic aspirations with my necessary, but often confounding, day job as a retail manager. This piece is created using oil paints that have been extremely thinned out by safflower oil; this enables an almost watercolor-like effect, letting the canvas breathe through. This piece comes with sides finished in a bright crimson color and is wired to hang.
