About this artwork

I've been anxious to paint this scene ever since my trip out West in 2015. I can still remember feeling stunned by the magnificent colors produced as the sun began to set in the canyons. That wonderful crisp spring green set against the deep violet canyon shadow. Texturally, I loved the softness of the grasses in the midst of such a rugged terrain. This piece was painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas.
