About this artwork
Land of the Freeway is an impressionist rendering of one of those off-a-highway-in-the-middle-of-nowhere service stations where the air is thick with gas fumes even though the place is deserted, the buzz of fluorescents is strong enough to drown out the passing diesel trucks, and there's always a gnat too many, yet, when you're there, it's liberating.
