About this artwork

A bizarre fish floats against a pink backdrop, its features resembling a cross between a piranha and an anglerfish. In the imagined aftermath of the Fukushima radiation incident, unsuspecting ocean species mutated, mingling with freshwater creatures and traces of human DNA. A Norwegian dubbed them FuktFisk, or more scientifically, “Lively Neurotic Underwater Carnivores.” A documentary on the rise of these cunning, dangerous predators is slated for release next year.
