Every week, UGallery releases new art and welcomes new artists to the community. We love seeing what each new week will bring. Say “Hello” to Weldon Ball, Geoffrey Gersten, and Michele de la Menardiere. These are UGallery’s newest artists! Read on below to learn a little bit more about their work.
Weldon Ball. Huntingdon, Tennessee.
Forest Pond
Weldon Ball abstracts landscapes to create new, uncharted territories. By simplifying a panorama into its fundamental lines and colors, he creates new worlds to explore. With palette knife in hand, Weldon spreads thick layers of oil into dramatic and energetic compositions.
Geoffrey Gersten. Tempe, Arizona.
Mr. Lemonhead
Geoffrey Gersten is a painter who creates his palette of colors from his surroundings. Born and raised in the radiant desert of Arizona, Geoffrey infuses his surreal paintings with vibrant, saturated colors. While adhering to the techniques of the classical art masters, Geoffrey offers refreshing works that are the “genesis of creative power and original vision.”
Michele de la Menardiere. San Francisco, California.
Michele de la Menardiere creates her own language using texture, iridescent colors, and unique shapes. In her highly-stylized, visual language, Michele communicates the complexities of human emotion. For Michele, painting is a cathartic process that allows her to meditate on universal themes ranging from loneliness to harmony.

Elizabeth Conley reawakened an inner self and unlocked hidden emotions when she picked up a paintbrush while living in Melbourne, Australia. New Artist Spotlight: Pamela Gatens, Menno van der Meulen, Sarah Parsons, Brandy Saturley, and Natalia Vetrova
Every week, UGallery releases a batch of new art (as well as new artists). We love seeing what each new week will bring.
Say “Hello” to Pamela Gatens, Menno van der Meulen, Sarah Parsons, Brandy Saturley, and Natalia Vetrova. These are UGallery’s newest artists! Below is a little bit about their work. If you like what you see, let them know by leaving a comment on their profile pages. I’m sure they’d love to hear from you.
Pamela Gatens. Hillsboro, West Virginia
Pamela Gatens loves to paint, so she does it whenever she can. After we spoke with her on the phone, Pamela ended the conversation with an exuberant, “I think I’m going to paint now!” Pamela proves that a daily art practice will produce expertly-crafted paintings. She shares her fascination with color by painting flowers, cats, and abstracts.
Menno van der Meulen. Arnhem, Netherlands
Heavy in composition and texture, Menno van der Meulen’s analogue and digital photography merges the darker side of traditional portraiture with his modern mentality. Inspired by the work of Anton Corbijn and Sally Mann, Menno channels a ethos of deeply moving art.
Sarah Parsons. Nashville, Tennessee
Sara Parsons conjures a dream world with her dry brush and palette knife techniques. She begins a painting by choosing its colors. Then, whether standing in her local church surrounded by music or in the solitude of her own studio, Sara will let her environment dictate her next stroke. She blurs lines brilliantly for a heavenly finishing touch.
Brandy Saturley. Victoria, British Columbia
Brandy Saturley’s pop creations are surreal looks into the mind of an artist. Her canvases explode with quirky power from her juxtapositions of deers with a fur scarves, skulls with flowers, and modern human figures in legendary and mythical setting. Her art touches the archetypal lobe in the brain of viewers for an overall seductive portfolio.
Natalia Vetrova. Vancouver, Canada
Culling inspiration from her wintry homeland of Russia, Natalia Vetrova drifts through traditional symbols and western colors for a truly global approach to art. No matter how far north Natalia travels, she welds together the formality of the east with the sturdiness of the west.
New Artist Spotlight: Lisa Carney, Christopher Garvey, and Ann Tuck
There’s no better way to celebrate Pablo Picasso’s birthday than with UGallery’s New Artist Spotlight. Every Thursday, UGallery welcomes a batch of new artists and artwork to the site. This blog series highlights them.
Send a “Hello” to Lisa Carney, Christopher Garvey, and Ann Tuck. Below is a little bit about their work. If you like what you see, let them know by leaving a comment on their profile pages. I’m sure they’d love to hear from you.
Lisa Carney. Ste-Anne-Des-Plaines, Quebec
The earth inspires Lisa Carney. From the layers of sediment underneath the planet’s crust to the fiery liquid lava that heats it, Lisa Carney “is fed by our beautiful planet and its phenomena.” Lisa goes below the surface of consciousness to get to the core of an emotion. Her compositions are tactile representations of the human condition.
Christopher Garvey. Summerville, South Carolina
Classical Realism is Christopher Garvey’s style of choice. Rooted in the traditions of Western art that grace the halls of famous art institutions, Chris paints in accordance with great masters who loved the physical world. He says, “The principles of Classical Realism are built on order, beauty, harmony and completeness.”
Ann Tuck. Berkeley Lake, Georgia
Ann Tuck may paint subject matter that is close to home, but her art is far from confined. Nestled in Ann Tuck’s paintings of farm animals and unripe fruit are itty-bitty surprises of artistic depth. She gathered a distinct aesthetic for contrasting colors and bold textures from her wayfaring past. Ann’s travels have inspired her to create works teeming with Andy Warhol’s panache and Grant Wood’s elegance.
New Artist Spotlight: Linnea Heide and Elena Zolotnitsky
Every Thursday, we welcome a batch of new artists and artwork to UGallery. This series of blog posts highlights each week’s new artists. Our new artists this week are Linnea Heide and Elena Zolotnitsky. Read on below to learn more about them. Leave a nice comment on their profile page to welcome them to UGallery!
Linnea Heide. Norfolk, Virginia
In chemistry, elements are the building blocks of matter. In art, feelings and emotions are the foundation. Linnea Heide’s abstract art is as essential as the elements that surround us. Fragments of color come together to form beautiful and harmonious pieces. Following in the footsteps of minimalist mavens like Mies van der Rohe, Linnea offers simplified compounds of modernism that are necessary to quell the complexity of the technology age.
Elena Zolotnitsky. Oakland, California
As Elena Zolotnitsky explores all aspects of beauty, her art becomes more emotional and raw. Even though Elena’s still life and figurative works come from within, her art is anchored in the physical realm. Elena uses copious amounts of oil paint and gold leaf to achieve a flatness similar to the contemporary artist Zhang Xiaogang. Unlike Xiaogang’s pop portraiture, Elena’s paintings are rooted in the traditions of Flemish and Balthus art.
New Artist Spotlight: Emilia Arana and Cristina Sciarra
Every Thursday, we welcome a batch of new artists and artwork to UGallery. This series of blog posts highlights each week’s new artists. The two this week follow their passions, which is the key to good art.

Emilia Arana. Tucson, Arizona
Emilia Arana delivers refreshing work to the landscape of abstract art. Swelling from scrapes of dark purple and green, Emilia’s emotions build into the thick clouds of color suspended on the canvas. Emilia takes elements from her challenges, doubts, and accomplishments to create omnipresent and intuitive pieces that promise relief from arid abstractions.
Cristina Sciarra. Brooklyn, NY
Sprinkle a pinch of color. Add a dash of composition. Mix until fully combined and you have a Cristina Sciarra photograph. With the right amount of light and texture, Cristina captures the essence of her current passion: creating and cooking recipes. Feast your eyes on food photography that tells the perfect tale of preparation and artistic prowess with a still life from Cristina smorgasbord of wholesome photo shoots.

New Artist Spotlight: Andrea Allegrone, Jean Thomas, and Andrew Vernon
Every Thursday, we welcome a batch of new artists and artwork to UGallery. This series of blog posts highlights each week’s new artists. The three this week are a natural pairing.
Our new artists are Andrea Allegrone, Jean Thomas, and Andrew Vernon. Read on below to learn more about each of them. Leave them a nice comment on their profile pages to welcome them to UGallery!
Andrea Allegrone. Stockbridge, Georgia
What goes around comes around. For Andrea Allegrone, her attempt to capture the unknown force in nature results in art that is mysterious and instinctive. Swirls of surrealism mix with atmospheric abstractions for an organic finished product. With topics ranging from spirit animals to dream interpretations, Andrea attempts to ignite an artistic phenomenon he calls the “Blue Flame”—the opposition of traditional social and psychological attributes within art.
Jean Thomas. Lake Oswego, Oregon
Jean Thomas holds an ongoing dialogue with her paintings to create extremely personal work. She explores texture, design, and color as she sees it. Every dribble of paint and impasto brushstroke leaves behind vibrant textures ripe for contemplation. She cares for every detail and ounce of energy in her paintings. Jean says, “the emotional impact of the subject and even the paint itself is important to me.”
Andrew Vernon. Largo, Florida
Andrew Vernon was bred to be a photographer. Surrounded by photography growing up, Andrew naturally picked up a camera and took a shot. Andrew’s work finds the balance between technicality and creativity in order to engage and sustain a wide audience. The inherent stillness of seascapes and landscapes moves Andrew to capture passionate photographs.
