New Artist Spotlight: Laura Carter

Dream Catcher

Laura Carter creates work that feels fantastical and a little dark. She finds inspiration in people and aging architecture. As she puts it, most of the time a dilapidated building will spark her creativity — more so than a flower garden. She explains:

“I find beauty in sadness so a lot of my art can be emotionally packed. There is something so beautiful and strong about a sad or lonely expression. I always feel very moved by it.”
