Oregon-based artist Kerri Blackman finds inspiration in both the beauty of nature and her own internal visions. For her, making art is a way to express the things she can’t put into words.
She enjoys letting the paint guide her: “I approach my paintings intuitively, carrying on a conversation with the paint and the canvas. I put a lot in, and then I take a lot back out. I enjoy purposely making problems for myself and then the challenge of bringing it all back into harmony. I think it makes for unexpected conclusions, and helps to avoid artistic cliches."
