Every week, UGallery releases new art and welcomes new artists to the community. We love seeing what each new week will bring. Say “Hello” to Diane Abt, Sonja Caldwell, and Debora Stewart. These are UGallery’s newest artists! Read on below to learn a little bit more about their work.

Diane Abt. Oakland, California.

Exile: Fukushima

Diane Abt makes art that is marked by fluidity, translucency, and power. Her study of calligraphy in Japan offered her the technical skill required to present works in a meaningful way. Diane says art, “…enables me to see the world’s beauty with more delight and to witness its tragedy with more clarity and compassion.”

Sonja Caldwell. San Jose, California

Twin Tulips, Paris

Sonja Caldwell’s photographs embody her passion for travel. Her memories of exploring Japan, India, Germany, and Paris add a nostalgic tint to her photographs. Through a wistful lens, Sonja turns a mood into a photographic moment.

Debora Stewart. Clinton, Iowa.

Red Abstract

Debora Stewart works intuitively to deliver abstract paintings full of dynamism and depth. Debora’s firm foundation in color theory amplifies the expressive nature of her art. Debora learned how to transfer the freedom of working with pastels to her acrylic work.
