For our From Where I Create series, we are going behind-the-scenes to see artists’ studios. These photographs have taken us on virtual trips everywhere from New York to Kauai.
Pamela Blaies recently sent us these snapshots of her space. Her studio, built in 2012, is behind her home in Colleyville, Texas.
I love the atmosphere I’ve created in my studio. It is painted a neutral greenish/grey and has great lighting for working as well as displaying finished painting as they dry. There is a big mahogany work table on one side and shelves along the opposite wall that hold antique items I’ve collected over the years and other stuff I like to use in my still life paintings. I often bring in flowers from my garden located right outside the back door of my studio and have music playing while I paint. My studio has become like a retreat for me and it’s a wonderful place to be.
Stay tuned for the next installment!
