Where do you make your best work? For our From Where I Create series, we asked UGallery artists to let us into their spaces. Our artists use everything from garden studios to easels at the beach to create their unique works.
This week, JJ Galloway sent us some snapshots of where she paints. Her surroundings definitely play a role in the work that she creates.
My space is above a detached garage right next to my house in a very perfect little waterfront community called Round Bay in Maryland. We spend a lot of time doing everything from sailing to crabbing to swimming in the Severn River. The community was built as a summer resort in the early 1900s. Everything here is vintage beach and summer cabin… a most definite inspiration in my art. We have so many great traditions here in Round Bay all of which filter into my art — including this little sailing camp for our community kids.
Stay tuned for the next installment!
