The Entanglement of Black Men in America
Last night in Miami, Kristine Mays was named the winner of the Bombay Sapphire 2014 Artisan Series. Her timely work, titled “The Entanglement of Black Men in America,” stole the show at the SCOPE.
Kristine uses hundreds of individual wires in order to create her sculptures, and she says the aim of her work is to “transform hard rigid wire into soft flowing movement, provoking you to see what’s within.” Kristine has been exhibiting since 1993 and has dedicated a portion of her proceeds to AIDS research.
