Artist Spotlight: Janet Hamilton

image

Road Trip

Janet Hamilton finds inspiration for her artwork in the contrast between nature and urban decay.  Her artistic process involves applying layers of paint to build up the surface of a piece, and then using a palette knife and other various tools to scrape away at the paint and create texture and reveal the colors underneath.

Color is also an important aspect of Janet’s work, and she uses it strategically to evoke an emotion or create a mood.
